Boston Scientific (BSC) trains Human Resources and Managers on the steps of the reasonable accommodation process: notify, assess, determine and review. Notify is when BSC becomes aware of employee circumstances that may require an accommodation. Assess is when BSC gathers information necessary to make a decision regarding an employee’s restriction(s). Determine is when BSC decides if employee’s restriction(s) can be reasonably accommodated. Review is when BSC tracks and follows-up with the employee on a regular basis. BSC has incorporated the process and associated communications into the overall disability inclusion training that has been delivered at the BSC sites.
